We've been flat out unpacking and sorting our new items from Zimbabwe - always an epic effort and a challenge to find space for it all. It's even more of a challenge to find time to take photographs! We have some gorgeous Gouldian finches now that I'm dying to show you, so they're next on the list for a photo session. He chose a large rhino and an even larger warthog and I think he's coming back for more! We sweep our site every month before we set up but we've never seen a pile this dense or knee-high before. Every oak leaf in Stirling was there! We're happy to announce that, as much as we love a We're happy to announce that, as much as we love autumn in Hahndorf and the glorious colours it creates, the last of the leaves on the plane tree outside our shop have fallen! With the crazy weather we've had this season, we've been raking up leaves and using our leaf blower for at least 30 minutes every morning since February! Imagine that!Β  The leaves are very picturesque but they're very slippery, wet or dry, in large quantities. They also block our gutters.Β  I tested my theory that some were the size of dinner plates, and I was right!
